Playoffs – #2 (Brauhaus Schmitz) v. #3 (Solow, Isbell & Palladino)

0-0 regulation, PKs 5-4 to SIP after 6 rounds.

Playing for the second timeĀ in three days, Brauhaus & SIP couldn’t find a way to goal at either end in the second semi-final match of the day — a chilly, tense, hard-fought battle waged largely in the midfield. Penalties would decide it, and even after the full 5 rounds the teams were still deadlocked, with each team making 4. In round 6, SIP keeper Craig “Lionheart” Comisar made a great diving save to his right, the penalty was well-placed but he guessed correctly, reacted sharply and had the strength to push it wide. Harry Middleton then stepped up for SIP and kept cool under pressure to put the Immigrants through to the final for the first time in many, many years.

Many thanks to Aaron and Rich for reffing their second game of the day on a cold evening.
