Recap
Irish Times and Stadium Pizza met on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Palumbo for a matchup of teams with two generations (Daoud and Abdou facing off against Ben and Jake) although both teams were happy for a bit of rain to keep the dust down. IT started off very quickly, with Jake Graff scoring in the first few minutes. Stadium looked to answer through Abdou, who put a couple off the post and also tested Ben in the IT net with a powerful free kick. The game’s next goal came through IT’s other youngster, with Koffi finishing off a nice through ball from Jake.
Halftime saw it at 2-0 for the Irish.
Stadium pressed to get back into the game in the second half through the speed of Maher but the next goal was from Bill Inden, playing up front instead of his typical spot centering the IT back line. Stadium’s next chance came from the spot, but Ben did just enough to keep the penalty out (by which I mean the shot hit the post with no interference from Ben at all). Jake then won a pk of his own and converted it for his brace.
Game ended 4-0. Thanks to Andy and Jerry for coming out and reffing on a less than beautiful day.
