Recap
It was the first chilly game of the season on Sunday at Palumbo, as Irish Times and Dalton & Associates squared off for a second time. IT started off going downhill as you do at Palumbo so had more of the chances in the first half. Ian Kane scored the first Irish Times goal unassisted, as he picked up the ball and made a few fakes before burying it. Dalton almost answered back through Dalton (Mike that is) but his shot glanced off the post. Ben in the IT net claimed he had it covered but spectators weren’t as sure as he was. The second IT goal was also scored by Ian, this time off a flick from James Holt’s head following an IT goal kick (Ben with the hockey assist!). IT had a few other good chances but all were repelled by Dalton (Connor this time) in the chilly and muddy southern nets. 2-0 at the half. That’s also how it finished, as each team had some good chances in the second half but couldn’t get any past the keepers. Thanks for Brauhaus’ Matt and Josh for rearranging their Sunday plans to come ref, all present greatly appreciated it!
