Recap
Good, tough game at Palumbo on Sunday between Irish Times and Dalton & Associates. Dalton had what looked like a full squad there (which can sometimes be a detriment at Palumbo) while IT started a player down with 9. Luckily their 10th player showed up about 5 minutes in so they didn’t have to play a man down for long. And a sub showed about 10 minutes later so all was good. IT was working the ball well through the middle (and heading downhill for the first half) and seemed to hold the possession advantage, while Dalton was most dangerous on the counter through Mike’s speed up top. IT got on the scoreboard in the first half when Koffi took a pass from Jacob Graff and absolutely laced a left-footer into the side netting. Maybe the best goal this intrepid reporter has ever seen the youngster score. Halftime it was 1-0. The second half was more of the same, with Dalton being even more dangerous because they were enjoying the “Palumbo Tilt” for the second half. Kevin stood strong in the IT nets (and volunteered to play in goal the whole game because of the missing IT players) and repelled all attacks. IT got some breathing space off a great shot by Ian Kane, opening his account for the season to make it 2-0. Final goal was scored by Koffi off another assist from Jacob, who headed a cross by Cullen back across goal for Koffi to finish at the back post. Thanks to Matt Troung and Ricky John for reffing.
