Brauhaus Schmitz vs Dalton & Associates

Brauhaus and Dalton and Assoc faced off for the 2nd time this season on a warm October night at Penn.  Dalton was limited with subs while Brauhaus had a few extras on the sidelines to work with.  The first match was an even affair with both defenses holding the other team in check.  Goalies Josh and Connor each came up with a few saves as well to keep the game scoreless at half.  The 2nd half started much of the same way, until a handball in the box gave Dalton a penalty opportunity.  Unluckily for the Associates, the spot kick headed just wide of the goal, so the game remained 0-0.  As fatigue started to set in for both team opportunities came a bit more frequently, with a couple chances for Dalton coming close.  The deadlock was eventually broken when JP Faunes chested down a flick from Paul Puma just outside the box and struck a shot low and hard into the far post of Dalton to give Brauhausthe 1-0 lead.  The game opened up a bit more after this point as Dalton were forced to play for an equalizer.  Unfortunately for Dalton however, goalie Connor Dalton was shown a red card after handling the ball outside the box to impede a run towards net from Brauhaus forward Grey Rumain.  Brauhaus held on after that point to finish the game 1-0.

Irish Times vs Solow, Isbell & Palladino

Irish Times came out on top against SIP in a battle of the top two teams in the BVFC table on Saturday afternoon.   The first half was a tale of two halves, as the Immigrants had control of the first 20 minutes or so, with several chances through Tyler and a couple of free kicks from Jimmy Reg.  The second half (of the first half) saw things swing the way of IT, with more possession and chances for the Irish.  Neither team was able to beat the old guys in their respective nets, however.  Unfortunately, SIP defender Harry had to go off with an injury; we hope it was just a cramp and that he didn’t seriously injure his hammy.

In the second half, IT was able to put some goals on the board through its “too young to vote connection.”  First Koffi scored off an assist from Jake, then Jake put in a header off Koffi’s cross.  Koffi then got his second off a miscue in the SIP defensive third, and then finally completed his hat trick off a long ball from his BVFC dad, Ben.  Game ended 4-0.  Thanks to Mike Dalton and Josh for coming out and reffing before their game.
